The Osprey Have Returned!

Sunday at noon, dozens of brave souls came to Breakwater Beach despite windy, chilly weather, thank you! We raised an Osprey platform, cleaned the beach, strung symbolic fencing to mark do-not-go areas where endangered shorebirds will be nesting, and engaged with community environmental organizations. Here are some images and notes from the day:

Last, but certainly not least, the Mattituck Park District thanks Richard Rivera for his generous support of the Osprey efforts. He funded both Osprey nests we've installed at Breakwater, and is funding the one we're installing at Bailie Beach this weekend. He also fed volunteers:
